This is hurricane season for the wider Caribbean, though Barbados sits at the southern edge of the hurricane belt and is hit far less frequently than other islands. Crop Over: June to August

Barbados’s most important cultural festival runs from the beginning of June through to Kadooment Day at the start of August. The island comes alive with calypso competitions, costume bands, food events and the Grand Kadooment parade. If you have never experienced a Caribbean festival, this is one of the best in the region.
