Collision Damage Waiver (“CDW”) relieves any or part of the customer’s responsibility for loss of or damage to the rental vehicle, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement. CDW is offered with a standard excess amount. Certain exclusions may apply. Please see section 6c of our Terms and Conditions for further details.

The minimum age to rent in Barbados with apparent is 21-24 years of age and held license for a minimum of 3 years.
An Underage Driver Fee will apply for drivers under 25 years.
All drivers (including any additional drivers) have to be in possession / have held a “valid” driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years to rent with apparent in Barbados.
IMPORTANT – Further restrictions apply dependent on driver age and type of vehicle required. Please refer to the FAQ’s on ‘Rules and Regulations – Question 1 ‘How old do I need to be to drive a hire vehicle?’ for further information.
A valid driver’s license for all named drivers, valid for a minimum of 3 years. Driver’s licenses printed in non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be accompanied by an international driver’s license. Any driver’s license originating from countries not part of the international driver’s license treaty must also be accompanied by an official translation.
Renters not from Barbados must provide a valid, government issued, secondary form of identification such as a passport.
All rentals are charged based on a 24 hour billing period. Only when an overdue return exceeds 8 hours will any additional day(s) charge apply.
If you are late with your rental vehicle, please give a call to our Reservations department at 246-2370338. The department is 24/7 and we will be happy to advise of further options if you are running late.

We carry a smoke free service. Smoking in any of our vehicles will result in a fee at the maximum of $300 towards removing the smell.
cleaning charge to the renter if a returned vehicle requires special treatment to remove any evidence of smoking.
All traffic offenses or violations of parking regulations involving the Vehicle during the period of Rental, including all fines and penalties will be the responsibility of the Hirer. If the Rental Office has to pay such fines, the Hirer will reimburse the Rental Office within 14 days and pay an administration fee of USD$50.00.
Yes, but the additional driver must be listed on the rental contract. The second driver must also provide their valid driving license for inspection before becoming a named driver on the rental and this can happen at any time during the course of the rental. The additional driver(s) is free of charge.
No, at the time of booking the driver’s name must be provided along with the driver’s license and, or form of ID.
The fuel must be return at the same level as given to avoid additional charges as specified on the rental contract.
Apparent provides the relevant contact details on the rental agreement provided to you upon pickup.

A quote should just be used as a guideline and is not binding until a reservation has been booked/confirmed.
No, because our quotes/rates/prices fluctuate throughout a day as prices are dependent on the availability of our fleet along with the demand of those vehicles.
Rates can fluctuate at any time, but rates for booked reservations will not change unless the renter requests the booking be amended.
No, once you have a confirmed reservation the price will not change unless you, as the renter, have requested the booking to be amended.
A pay-on-arrival reservation does not require full payment until the pickup of the rental vehicle. These reservations tend to cost more than paid in advance reservations. The benefit to pay-upon-arrival reservation is that these bookings are free of cancellation/amendment charges.
A pre-paid reservation requires full payment for your rental upon booking, regardless of whether you confirmed your booking: online (via our website), through a third party/ Agency (paid to the Agency) or with our Reservations team on the telephone. If you cancel a prepaid booking, a cancellation fee will apply and this could be up to the full cost of your rental.

What do I do if I have been involved in an accident and how do I contact apparent about claims?
Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00, excluding certain Bank Holidays (BH’s).
Usually damage is noted in your presence upon return of vehicle otherwise, we notify you within 2-5 working days. However, delays can occur over busy periods and Bank Holidays (BH’s).
The initial notification will be sent via email.
We take all complaints and disputes very seriously, and will always welcome feedback on the service received or the processes we use. In order to keep a record and track of such, we do ask that all complaints/disputes are submitted in writing, either by email or post, using the following details:

No, any damage to the glass and or tires is of the responsibility of the renter. Apparent does offer additional coverage products to cover these items. Loss Damage Waiver for any glass and Roadside Protection for tires. Certain exclusions apply. Please see our Terms and Conditions.
No, CDW carries certain exclusions. Please see Sections 6c of our Terms and Conditions.
If you experience any mechanical or damage issue with your rental vehicle during the rental period, please contact Apparent at 1 246 2370338.
Our vehicles should always be checked by our experienced Agents, however, oversights can happen. For Apparent Terms and Conditions, it is the responsibility of the renter to inspect the vehicle for damage before leaving the rental facility. If damage is discovered, contact us at 1 246 2370338 or meet with one of our Agents and notify us of the damage.
No, our vehicles cannot be repaired by renters. Apparent has their own authorized repair facilities.
Normally, stickers are placed on to the fuel doors and or caps, to advise you of the fuel type. However, if this is not the case on your rental vehicle, please call 1 246 2370338 before re-fueling. If you believe you have re-fueled the vehicle incorrectly, do not drive the vehicle, as this is likely to cause further damage, creating a greater cost to rectify. It is imperative that it is reported to us on the number above.
Please be aware that the incorrect re-fueling of our vehicles is excluded from your loss damage waiver, and the full amount will be charged to you.
Yes, all damage claims are subject to a reasonable Administration Fee. The Administration Fee applied to each damage claim is determined by the invoice amount (these may be subject to change at times of our review).
Cancellations can be made at any point prior to the start of the rental.
Please note if a “pre-paid” reservation is not cancelled prior to the start of the rental, and the vehicle was not collected (no-show), the rental amount will still be charged to the customer in full.
Cancellation Fee Structure:
– If the cancellation occurs on a rental no more than 48 hours before the scheduled start date, there will be no refund.
– If the cancellation is made more than 48 hours before the rental start date, there will be a full refund.
Cancellations can be made at any point prior to the start of the rental.
Please note if a “pre-paid” reservation is not cancelled prior to the start of the rental, and the vehicle was not collected (no-show), the rental amount will still be charged to the customer in full.

Amendments can be made to “pre-paid” reservations up to 48 hours prior to the start of the rental (subject to availability) at a fee of 10.00 USD. However, if the rental cost increases as result of the amendment then we do not charge the amendment fee. Amendments to pay-on-arrival bookings can be made at any time free of charge.

No, the Card holder who is paying for the booking has to be the main driver, as this will be stated on the Rental Agreement.

Yes, Apparent offers a pre-pay charge as well as a flexible pay-on-arrival charge. When paying in advance, the price is cheaper, but please be advised that fees may apply to cancelling or amending pre-paid bookings.
